clex_monkie89 had a fantastic idea for a challenge that I totally wish I'd thought of. Speaking of challenges, am I doing undermistletoe this year? Does anyone have any fun challenge themes they'd like for me to incorporate? I AM ALL EARS. I am in the mood to coordinate something, and I haven't had my will distracted due to the lovely gblvr handling the bulk of sgabigbang shenanigans this year. So give me some UM suggestions! Let's do something cool!

Anyway, Clex Monkie's challenge was Changing Channels - putting Sam and Dean on other shows.

So I wrote a little Glee/SPN crossover bit. - the link to the full challenge is on that page, of course.

I slept until 2 today, so now I am going to head outside to enjoy this gorgeous weather Chicago has seen fit to bestow. Yesterday I threw a little fall fondue party for fangirls in order to usher in the cold weather properly, and it was of course, 70 degrees. Maybe I should have a fall fondue party every weekend - in the hopes that it would stave off the cold for longer? *ponderface* We watched The Persuaders! (complete with exclamation point) that frostfire_17 brought, and the last ep of SPN wherein we laughed ourselves sick, Eastwick (but I totally downloaded the wrong ep, so it wasn't as much of a pimping moment as I had anticipated, alas) and White Collar. And random gay clips of SNL and MadTV. If that's what it takes to stave off the cold weather then, by gum, I will suck it up and take it.

Finally, I've had a day in which I surpassed the daily word-count goal for my Stargate SG1 novel. In order to make it to 50,000 words by the end of November, we should be averaging 1,667 words per day. Today is the first day I hit that average. In fact, I was over it, at 2,108 words written today. I think I've also finished Chapter Two.

Of course, I'm still way behind where I should be by now on the total word count. And as for the quality of the writing, well, we're not going there. But progress is progress. So it's all good.

Total word count so far: 5,695.

So. I just played Gears of War all the way through, online co-op with a friend. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. My hands are claws. My eyes are almost bleeding. I feel the urge to own a chainsaw.

Oh my.

I'm trying to get my Agent Washington RP account squared away. Got a pretty app complete with some shiny screencaps. Now I'm looking at the 30 icons of space I have.

See, I needed a PB for Washington, so when I first made the account, I picked Josh Duhamel because he kinda fit. But now, after Recreation, I'm not so confident in the choice. You can see the icons here. Something just doesn't fit.

I wish I could just get some fanart, but most is drawn with the helmets on. The closest I've seen to a really good look for Wash is this piece of fanart, but it's a one-off thing, sadly.

Can anyone think of an actor who kinda looks like the guy in that art? Or anyone that might fit a hyper-competent, half-crazy soldier type?

Then again, anything's better than the concept designs Luke McKay, RvB's art guy, came up with. Ugh.

Have returned to my graphics programs to find that Elements is still tempremental when it comes to adding text, thankfully IrfanView can help me out there, but I'm experimenting with a different layout for preview pictures, one that's easier to get right without Gimp. And I think Gimp is done for, at least in its current version. Starting it up yesterday caused everything to grind to a halt which was remedied only by the laptop's power switch. I will not be venturing back. Despite these setbacks, I managed to produce four more sets of school colours, based on universities in Hong Kong:

I was doing some exercise practice for the JLPT 3 exam, and I came across several sentence structures that I have never seen before (this is making me panic, bleh):

１．さんまは秋が旬の魚で、１０月から　１１月に　かけてが　一番おいしい　ころでしょう。
→ I don't quite understand the sentence structure: why is the て-form followed by a particle - in this case, が？ How do you use this sentence structure, and what is it used to express/used for?

２Ａ．また、あなたが家にいない時間に録画をしたいときは　録画の　予約ができ、たいへん便利です。
２Ｂ．それから、コピーの　機械の　ふたをあけ　コピーしたい　げんこうをおきます。
→ I've kind of figured out by guessing that this sentence structure (i.e. using the stem of a verb's ますform) functions somewhat like the て-form of a verb, in the sense that it's used to join sentences. One question that I have though, is this: when is it appropriate to use the stem of a verb's ますform and when to use a verb's て-form to join sentences?

Help will be much appreciated because I am really quite confused! :(
