Makeout Ficlet #3

"What would happen if we were to break up?" Mohinder wondered idly, twining his fingers through Matt's and feeling a little like a tendril of climbing ivy, leg thrown across his, elbow on his chest, face buried in his neck.

"Mm, dunno, you think it's gonna happen?" Matt was relaxed, half-asleep. The blankets were warm and so was Mohinder and the rain was doing a soothing soft-shoe on the windowpane above their bed.

Mohinder's shoulders went up in a half-shrug, and he laid a languid kiss on the man's neck. "Well, no, but you never know. Life has a way of taking you odd places."

"This is true." Matt rolled onto his side, fire-bright eyes burning into Mohinder's all of a sudden. "What are you so worried about?" he asked, caressing Mohinder's smooth cheek with a warm thumb.

The rain's gentle shuffling intensified to a pounding for a half-minute while Mohinder tried to find his reply. Here on the bed in the most gentle of all hideaways, how could he even find the concept he was trying to broach? It was worlds away. This was stability, this was certainty. And yet he knew that far from this time and place, there were sometimes doubts. He stretched out mentally, trying to reclaim them.

"You remind me," Matt said, rolling back onto his back, "of a guy I used to know. He'd nearly died once, when he was careless and stepped off a landing and fell down the stairs, and he was afraid he'd forget how it felt and be careless again. So he started cliff-diving and bungee-jumping and stuff. Cause he was so afraid that one of these days he'd stop being afraid."

Mohinder pouted. "I really rather hate it when you do that."

Matt laughed; hooked an arm around his shoulders, pulling him in; and kissed him warmly. "You know what will happen if we break up?" he said. "Hot makeup sex the very next day."

With a chuckle of defeat, Mohinder moved against him. "Oh, that's reassuring," he said. "How about this? Let's skip the first part."

No, I will not allow any substance whatsoever in these, they're too much fun to write.

Yes Mohinder darling, don't you just hate it when your snugglebunny knows exactly what to say and do to put your mind at ease?

It's like the man is a mindreader or something-oh wait...:p

Much love for this. ^_^
